This may be down to the fact that it is a marketing campaign for the artist and so the conventions can be very broad and will try to appeal to the masses. One of the main conventions of the Pop genre of music video is lots of dancing. This represents the joy that many of the songs give off to other people and therefore the audience that watches the video can relate. These videos also give a view of the the rich and luxurious celebrities and the lifestyle that they live. This is depicted by large mansions and wealthy clothes. Their usually is no story/narrative when it comes to pop music and so these videos are normally just a collection of different clips of people basically having a good time. Artists that use these conventions within this genre include: Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Iggy Azeala, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Jason Derulo, Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars and Maroon 5.
